I am a nature lover and often look for mother daughter activities that we can enjoy together to make our time truly meaningful.

I think picnics are a fun way to bond with family. When we go to a park for a picnic, I bring books and games to make the experience more enjoyable. We usually pack fruits, sandwiches, treats, and drinks.

As a mom of one, I love taking pictures (okay, Iโ€™m a little obsessed), but I truly enjoy having those memories to look back on. Our picnic time helps me disconnect from lifeโ€™s stressors and be fully present in the moment.

Best Spots for Picnics in or near Orlando

Are you looking for the best spots for picnics, relaxation, and meaningful bonding moments with your family? The five locations below wonโ€™t disappoint. Start your bucket list and explore new places together.

1. Mead Botanical Garden

Mead Botanical Garden is a hidden gem in Winter Park that feels both wild and welcoming. With boardwalks, butterfly gardens, and open green spaces, it invites curiosity and exploration. Itโ€™s perfect for walking trails, spotting wildlife, and finding a cozy picnic spot along the way.

Itโ€™s the kind of place where kids can ask questions, wander freely, and connect with nature and with you at the same time.

I have participated in Mommy and Me Yoga at the park, and it was a relaxing and beautiful experience. This garden is also perfect for taking breathtaking pictures.

2. Kraft Azalea Garden

If youโ€™re looking for something quieter and more intimate, Kraft Azalea Garden is a beautiful lakeside retreat. The towering cypress trees and scenic views of Lake Maitland create a serene backdrop for a simple picnic.

Itโ€™s less crowded than other parks, which makes it perfect for slowing down, sharing a peaceful moment, and enjoying uninterrupted quality time together.

3. Bok Tower Gardens

Bok Tower Gardens is not in Orlando; it is located about an hour away in Lake Wales, FL. However, I added it to the list because it feels like a peaceful escape from the busy city. The beautifully landscaped grounds, shaded walking paths, and the singing tower create a calm, almost storybook-like setting.

Itโ€™s a perfect spot for a quiet picnic where you can slow down, explore nature with your child, and even catch the towerโ€™s bell concerts.

4. Lake Eola Park

Right in the heart of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola Park offers a mix of city energy and laid-back charm. With its iconic fountain, swan boats, and wide open lawn, itโ€™s ideal for a casual picnic and playtime. Kids can run around, watch the swans, or enjoy the playground while you relax nearby.

5. Harry P Leu Gardens

I havenโ€™t personally visited this park yet, but I have friends who have and highly recommend it. The park hosts a variety of events, including art and painting classes, sound bowl meditation workshops, and seasonal celebrations like Christmas events.

Itโ€™s definitely on my 2026 bucket list. Even just looking at photos online, I can already appreciate how beautiful it is.

Final Thoughts

Itโ€™s time to explore the best spots for picnics in Orlando. Stop waiting and start creating new memories and meaningful bonding moments with your family.

Best wishes,

Mel
